Guide: Getting Help

Since DJGPP is not a commercial product, there is no 1-800 number you can call to get technical assistance. However, we have something better. We've got a user community! All of the people who wrote DJGPP and a lot of DJGPP users participate in the discussions on the mailing list and newsgroup, and nearly everyone claims that support for DJGPP is better and faster than any commercial product!

Anyway, if you need help, you should probably check these sources, in the order given.

The FAQ. Eli Zaretskii has compiled a very extensive list of frequently asked questions and their answers. This document is available from wherever you got DJGPP - look for a file called "faqb.zip" or point your web browser at http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/v2faq/

The web site. DJGPP's primary web site is http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/ and contains nearly everything that's available through all the other sources combined. Most of the rest of these sources are available from this site.

The mail archives. Every single message that's been mailed to the mailing list or posted to the newsgroup has been stored in the archives and you can search for various topics of interest here. http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/mail-archives/

The news group and mailing list. These are actually one forum, so sending to either gets your question to everyone. The newsgroup is comp.os.msdos.djgpp and the mailing list is djgpp@delorie.com. The newsgroup is preferred. If you want to use the mailing list, send e-mail to listserv@delorie.com and it will tell you how to subscribe to it. http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/mailing-lists/

If you are still stuck at this point, you're probably on your own.
