Segmented Bowl with Legs

The wood used for this project is white oak for the body, and mahogany for the trim. Total size is 12" across and 8" tall. The finish is Formby's Tung Oil Finish, with a layer of Minwax Wipe-On Poly over that for extra protection.

This is my first segmented bowl, and it took about two weeks and 276 trapezoids to complete, including practice rings, miter calibration, and mounting block construction. The lip ring had to be cut off and replaced as it got damaged during the turning. This piece was constructed for the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers scholarship raffle at the Sunapee Fair.
